Can I use GLP-1 peptides alongside insulin or metformin?

Yes, both combinations are common and well-studied in clinical settings. Metformin and GLP-1 agonists are frequently prescribed together for type 2 diabetes and work through different mechanisms. With insulin, caution is needed: GLP-1 agonists lower blood sugar independently, so combining them increases hypoglycemia risk. If you're on insulin, you may need to reduce your insulin dose as you start a GLP-1. This should be done with medical guidance—hypoglycemia can be dangerous. Monitor your blood glucose closely during the transition.
